Sustainable Community Wellness and Nutrition in the Americas:
Johnson & Wales University, Regis College, and Universidad de Congreso will together participate in study abroad program designed to address global health and nutrition concerns. Through experiential and service-oriented community engagement activities, cultural experiences, industry-led trainings and faculty-led lectures in the U.S. and Argentina, students will explore the regional impact and issues surrounding health and nutrition that affect local populations, such as food availability, preparation, sanitation, and security.
JWU (Providence, RI) culinary nutrition and public health students will join  nursing and public health students from Regis College (Weston, Mass), and international relations and resource management students from the Universidad de Congreso (Mendoza, Argentina) along with respective faculty and study abroad administrators, to explore sustainable community wellness and nutrition in the Americas. Throughout the month of June, they will travel and study at each partner university. They will begin in Argentina where the Regis and JWU US students will join their "UCongreso" colleagues and become immersed in the community, culture, and  working with local non-profits on the issues of public health and nutrition for families in the region. In mid-June, the entire team will complete their program in the US, spending five days at JWU in Rhode Island and then five days at Regis in  Massachusetts.
Dates:
May 31-June 11 Mendoza Argentina
June 11-17 Providence RI
